This 100 prong traditional Japanese Chasen is made of premium bamboo and is the perfect tool for preparing matcha and participating in tea ceremonies. Durable and easy to care for, it is the ideal way to properly mix and whisk our Organic Matcha Powder by Apotheca
How To Mix Our Matcha Powder Using a Bamboo Whisk
Gather Your Tools:
- Matcha powder
- Bamboo whisk (chasen)
- Matcha bowl (chawan) or small wide bowl
- Sifter (optional)
- Hot water (80°C/176°F—just below boiling)
Sift the Matcha:
- Place 1 teaspoon of Organic Matcha Powder By Apotheca into a sifter over your matcha bowl.
- Sifting helps remove any clumps for a smoother, frothier blend.
Add Hot Water:
- Pour about 2 tablespoons of hot water into the bowl. This creates a paste to prevent clumping.
- Gradually add more water (about ½ cup total).
Whisk It Up:
- Hold the bamboo whisk lightly and whisk briskly in an “M” or “W” motion, not circular.
- Whisk until the matcha is frothy and a light layer of foam forms on top.
Enjoy:
- Sip straight from the bowl or pour into a cup. Matcha can be enjoyed pure or with your choice of milk for a matcha latte.
Tip: Clean your bamboo whisk gently under warm water after each use and let it air dry upright to keep it in perfect shape.

Accurately measure your herbal tonics and tinctures with 2.5ml increments. This glass measuring cup provides precise measurements for therapeutic dosing.
Why glass? When choosing between a glass measuring cup and a plastic measuring cup, several factors come into play, including health, durability, accuracy, and environmental impact. Here are the key reasons why a glass measuring cup is often preferred over a plastic measuring cup:
Health and Safety
- Chemical Leaching: Glass is non-reactive, meaning it does not leach chemicals into your food or liquids. Plastic, on the other hand, can release harmful chemicals such as BPA (Bisphenol A) or phthalates, especially when exposed to heat or acidic substances.
- Odour and Stain Resistance: Glass does not absorb odors or stains from foods and liquids, maintaining its cleanliness and safety over time. Plastic can retain odours and become stained, which can affect the taste and purity of what you're measuring.

Nolans Road Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil is made from certified organic olives, allowing for a unique flavour intensity each growing season. After pressing, the oils are naturally settled and evaluated, then blended with other varieties from their Hynam farm and partner growers to achieve their signature style. Grown in Hynam near Naracoorte on the South Australia's Limestone Coast, Nolans Road prides itself on quality and sustainability.
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Only olive oil of the highest quality can be called “Extra Virgin”. Legally, an olive oil can only be called “Extra Virgin” if it passes strict chemical analysis tests in an industry-accredited laboratory. Nolans Road olive oils are assessed every season and fall well within the legal boundaries of the definition.
2024 NOLANS ROAD ROBUST
Nolans Road Robust Olive Oil has been widely acclaimed by chefs and food writers right from our first bottling in 2004. Bursting with vitality, food lovers delight in the flavour it brings to their food. UK television host Nigella Lawson says it’s her favourite olive oil and Australia’s doyenne of food writers, Stephanie Alexander, described it in The Age newspaper as “outstanding”.
Lovers of this style of extra virgin olive oil are seeking the green, grassy, peppery characteristics that come from our Italian varieties of olives specially picked at the beginning of the harvest season (April or May depending on what the growing season has been like). Those Italian varieties – frantoio, leccino, signora and pendolino – also give the oil its signature fragrant nose up front.
Nolans Road Robust is bottled unfiltered. Once they are pressed, they leave their oils to settle naturally over the winter months before they are carefully blended to ensure a balanced, delicious extra virgin olive oil. Robust Olive oil matches well with strong, punchy flavours – rocket salads, rich soups and stews, red meats or just grab a chunk of the best bread you can find and dunk it straight in a dipping bowl of the good stuff!
Nolans Road Robust 2024 Test Results: Free Fatty Acid content: 0.1% (Maximum allowed 0.80%) Peroxide value: 9 (Maximum allowed 20).
