Mulled Xmas Tisane

A delicious, Xmassy spice blend to drink as a warming tisane, refreshing ice tea or a hot mulled wine.  

Organic ingredients: Hibiscus flower, Juniper berry, Mandarin & Orange segments, Cinnamon, Clove, Rosehip, Nutmeg, Rose. Caffeine free. No added flavours.

To prepare a warming tisane (or non-alcoholic mulled wine), follow these steps:

1. Steep one teaspoon per cup of freshly boiled water for 3-5 minutes, allowing the ingredients to mature and liberate their aroma.
2. Enjoy it as is, or for added sweetness (which is how we recommend serving it), you can add honey. 

To make a refreshing iced tea, follow these steps:

1. In a jug, steep four teaspoons of tea in one litre of boiling hot water.
2. Add three tablespoons of honey or your sweetener of choice.
3. After 10 minutes, strain the mixture and pour it into another jug.
4. Serve with ice, orange slices, and berries.

To prepare hot mulled wine, follow these steps:

1. In a pot, steep five teaspoons of spices in one liter of red wine.
2. Add thin slices of one whole orange or apple, one tablespoon of flaked almonds, two tablespoons of dried currants, and three tablespoons of honey to the pot.
3. Simmer on low heat for 20 minutes.
4. Serve the mulled wine hot, accompanied by a slice of Panettone or fruit cake.
5. For an elegant touch, add a cinnamon quill or star anise for decoration.

Tisane vs Tea: A tisane refers to a herbal infusion made from flowers, leaves, roots, seeds, or fruits, and is naturally caffeine-free. Tea, in the traditional sense, refers specifically to preparations made from the leaves of the tea plant, Camellia sinensis. This includes white, green, oolong, black teas and everything in between, all of which naturally contain caffeine in varying amounts.
